And Denton has no shortage of awesome playgrounds, perfect for some free family fun. South Lakes Park and Eureka Playground is a local favorite, over 180 acres with pavilions, picnic tables, fishing piers, tennis courts and dog stations.

Where to Eat and Drink

From line-worthy brunch options to casual burger joints to more intimate dining options, there’s a lot to explore here. If you bring nothing else on a visit to Denton, at least bring your appetite.

There's no shortage of places to grab a bite to eat in Downtown Denton! LSA Burger, with a patio that overlooks the Courthouse-on-the-Square, is a local favorite and perfect spot to start a fun day exploring the Square. LSA serves up the most delicious burgers and brisket queso fries. Looking for something unique? Komodo Loco is a non-traditional Japanese restaurant that features dishes that derive their flavors from both Asian and Latin cooking techniques. Or if you're looking for a high-end option, Hannah's off the Square or Queenie's Steakhouse have chef crafted menus that will satisfy even the most sophisticated palate!

Visit a Museum

Many of our Denton museums have safely reopened their doors and are ready to welcome you! Make plans to visit the Denton County Historical Park, where you can tour the Bayless-Selby House and Quakertown House museums. The Denton Firefighters Museum takes visitors on a journey to honor brave firefighters both past and present. The museum hosts a collection of fascinating memorabilia from the 1800s to modern day, allowing visitors to step back in time and experience the evolution of firefighting over the last 150 years. Located inside the lobby of the historic Central Fire Station, the Denton Firefighters Museum is open weekdays, from 8 am until 5 pm, and admission is free.

If you have littles head over to the Explorium Denton. This interactive children's museum gives children and their families the opportunity to learn and play together. Don't forget to check out their website for special events!
