Texas Veterans Hall of Fame in Denton, TX
Honoring all Texans for their service
The mission of the Texas Veterans Hall of Fame (TVHOF) is to honor all Texas Veterans for their service, sacrifices, and accomplishments, to preserve the history and stories of our Texas Veterans, and to educate the public on those stories.
The Texas Veterans Hall of Fame museum was established to increase awareness of the lifetime contributions of Texan Veterans after the completion of honorable military service. Those selected for induction are Texas Veterans who honorably served their county through military service and who continue to serve and inspire their communities and the state.
Museum Exhibits and Learning
TVHOF has been recognized by the Texas Historical Commission with its mini museum display that showcases memorabilia and stories of Texas Veterans.
For adults, they have a virtual reality experience where visitors can immerse themselves in a “War Remains” simulator, depicting the trenches of WWI. The museum features Tunnel Rat and Hanoi Hilton displays, these exhibits tell the stories and hardships of being a soldier and POW in Vietnam.
Visitors can search for a veteran and their story will come up. If the visitor wants to go to the grave, they will have access to GPS Coordinates of the exact location.
For a more comprehensive experience, their virtual museum has full lessons and stories of Texas heroes.
Trail of Honor
The Trail of Honor features over 1,200 miles in Texas highlighting 22 key military museums and memorials. This self-guided tour makes stops in Lubbock, Abilene, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and more. For information about the locations, click here.
Every year the TVHOF induct Texas Veterans under four categories. Valor, Service, Support, and Patriotism. This event honors and recognizes not only our Texas heroes, but those who have made a difference in the lives of veterans, and the public at the local, state, and national levels.
Patriot Cemetery Markers
“Remember Them Forever” is TVHOF’s signature program to honor all Texas Veterans who have passed with a marker placed on their graves. This marker has a QR code on the back, and when scanned, the code brings up the profile on that Veteran. They have placed markers on over 600 graves in the two City of Denton cemeteries and are populating our database of profiles buried in those two cemeteries.
