What could be a better start to the weekend than a trip to the Denton Community Market, a producer-only art and farmer's market in the heart of downtown Denton? Grab your leash and visit local vendors offering produce, prepared foods, jewelry, home goods, and more. You'll even find the perfect treat for your four-legged friend at Susie's Snack Shop.

Whether you are new to the area or not, the Discover Denton Visitor Center located in downtown Denton at 111 W. Hickory St. should be early in your itinerary. Not only will you find friendly people ready to answer your questions regarding everything Denton has to offer, but you'll also find Denton-centric and locally made merchandise. Grab a snack for your pup while you both take a look around.

Dog Parks

Wiggly Field Dog Park is a 63-acre home to nature trails, a lake, two off-leash areas, and a training area. Picnic tables and benches provide the perfect opportunity to nibble on those snacks that made it out of the Community Market with you.

The newest of Denton's parks focused on our four-legged friends is the North Lakes Dog Park, located at North Lakes Park, near the Linda McNatt Animal Care and Adoption Center. Completed in December of 2019, this .65-acre dog park features four separate play areas.

Lakes & Trails

Looking for a little more adventure? Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center features miles of hiking trails for you and your pet that takes you through hardwood forest, upland prairie, marshlands, and more.

The Greenbelt Corridor is a 20-mile multi-use trail that runs from below the Lake Ray Roberts Dam to the headwaters of Lake Lewisville. Dogs are welcome on any of these trails as long as they are leashed.
