Scenic Driving Tour Of North Texas Horse Country

Denton County sits in the middle of the North Texas Horse Country and we invite you to enjoy it at your leisure. Home to some of the most pristine horse farms in the state, along your driving tour you will see miles of pipe and rail fencing, beautiful pastures and of course horses!

The loamy soil and warm climate are perfect for the thriving equine industry. Situated 36 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth, where I-35 E meets I-35 W, Denton is the county seat of Denton County. From the century-old courthouse and quaint town square to the world-class Texas Motor Speedway, Denton offers a setting where these diverse worlds meet and match the “fun-factor potential” of any destination anywhere!

The Rules

The area is populated with more than 300 horse farms, many of which are breeding and training facilities, but remember they are real working ranches and may not be able to entertain individual visitors. Unless gate signage at the ranch specifically invites drop-in visitors, please refrain from entering private driveways and stick to the main roads.  This ensures safety for our visitors, our horses and a positive visitor experience for everyone.
