After popping the question – on the Square, might I add, as only a true Denton Love Guru would do – I have now entered that phase of the engagement that many fret over: wedding planning. Heck, for most couples, that *is* the engagement – one venue tour, cake tasting and color conversation after the other. All in all, the list of “to do’s” on the way to “I do” can be quite daunting. Luckily, we have a bridal show right here in town that is, in effect, a one-stop shop for wedding planning.
This year’s Denton Bridal Show will take place on Saturday, July 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the beautiful Monroe Pearson wedding venue. The budget-friendly fiesta of all things weddings is open to brides, grooms, mothers of the bride, maids of honor and best men, and it includes everything you’ll ever need to create the wedding of your dreams. DJs, florists, caterers, officiants and everything in between will all be under one roof in the heart of downtown Denton, making it a can’t-miss event for any brides- or grooms-to-be.
“We’re excited for each of the couples to see this new venue and the hands-on dress sale and floral workshops,” says Lisa Moore, one of the owners of Widmoore Events, who puts on the bridal show. “We just want them to leave our show feeling so much more prepared and equipped to plan their wedding.”
The days have long-past where the women are in total control of the wedding day. As someone who knows how overwhelming wedding planning can be, this is a dream come true. Plus, it’s nice to sample food options on-site, while listening to prospective DJs, talking to event reps and wedding planners and collaborating with fellow brides and grooms to make it a day to remember for all involved. It’s the perfect showcase for all things weddings — and an opportunity to plan a perfect ceremony right here in Denton.
Thanks to many of the photographers and fine folks displaying their crafts at the bridal show, Denton is now a destination for one-of-a-kind weddings – no matter the size or style. It helps that Monroe Pearson – an intimate venue located walking distance from the Square – is now open for business. But as you’ll see when you attend the bridal show, your options – in venues and vendors – are limitless.
“Denton is exploding on the wedding scene with so many wedding industry professionals and locations,” Moore says. “You really don’t even have to leave Denton to plan your wedding in full with top notch vendors.”
