The North Texas Horse Country in Denton and the surrounding area has one of the largest concentrations of horse breeding and training farms in the country, and the largest concentration of Quarter Horse farms and ranches. Visitors can enjoy the North Texas Horse Country by using the self-guided driving tour brochure, or joining a behind-the-scenes, quarterly tour of the working horse farms and ranches in the area.
Collegiate Sports In and Around Denton
Denton is a great place to take in numerous spectator sports at the collegiate level with two universities located in the city. Exciting games and meets ranging from football to gymnastics are happening year-round. Enjoy a Mean Green game among enthusiastic University of North Texas fans in the state of the art Apogee Stadium.

Midlake is just one of the noted bands and musicians who started their rise in music while attending the University of North Texas, along with numerous other Grammy-award winning musicians and popular musicians who came out of Denton and some who still call it home.
