Denton Diablos 2019 Season
Denton is now home to semi-professional team Denton Diablos who are preparing to burn through Texas soccer fields when the elite minor league soccer club begins competition on May 11. The Diablos officially joined National Premier Soccer League’s Lone Star Conference this past fall and have been working tirelessly to build the club and integrate into the community. They also announced Chad Rakestraw, current head coach of Flower Mound Marcus High School in southern Denton County, as the club’s first head coach.
After hosting 3 open tryouts, the Diablo’s 2019 player pool includes local talent as well as international players. The Denton Diablos FC will play home matches at UNT’s Soccer Stadium donning PUMA brand uniforms and gear.

Come join your Denton Diablos as they embark on their 2019 NPSL Lonestar Conference Playoff journey! After finishing 2nd in the regular season, the Diablos earned the right to host their first round game. They will face the Fort Worth Vaqueros at 7:15 pm on Thursday July 11th, your Denton Diablos will battle whomever steps in their path towards their goal of hoisting the 2019 NPSL Lonestar Conference championship trophy!

Mulberry St. Cantina will be hosting a series of watching parties for every Denton Diablos away game during the season. The perfect choice for dedicated fans that can’t make it out to far-away matchups. Have a beverage, make some new friends, and cheer on our favorite team!
Mulberry St. Cantina is a locally owned and operated, non-smoking, margarita, tequila and scratch cocktail bar. The cantina is located south of the square. They love to support and showcase local art and music and support all things Denton! Their drinks are made with fresh ingredients, no mixes or powders and they have 12 Mexican beers and several craft beers on tap. Food trucks are out front on the weekends and you are encouraged to bring in food or get delivery from the fine local eateries in the downtown area.
