(not a) Summer Hangout is a 1-day mini music festival benefitting one of Denton's local 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, Denton Music and Arts Collaborative (DMAC). DMAC exists to preserve the cultural integrity of Denton by enabling musicians and artists to continue to thrive here, namely by subsidizing healthcare coverage. This will be the third year for this annual music festival. Summer Hangout is a subsidiary of Holiday Hangout - one of Little Rock's most anticipated music events of the year. Each year, Last Chance Records, DMAC, and Dan's Silverleaf invite several musicians on the Summer Hangout roster to perform. Previous performers have included Slobberbone, Wayne "The Train" Hancock, Ian Moore, and Hamell on Trial.
