LIBERTY 5K RUN & WALK

Join in the 4th of July fun with the Denton Parks and Rec 24th Annual Liberty 5K Run/Walk on July 2nd, 2022. Registration for the run is open until June 15th, with late registration until June 29th. Every registration fee includes a t-shirt and a race bag. Packet pick-up will be held the days leading up to the race, July 1st, and 2nd, at the Denton Civic Center. The 5K run or 1-mile walk begins at the Denton Civic Center, located at 321 E. McKinney St.

FOURTH OF JULY JUBILEE

From 10 am to 12 pm on July 2nd, families are invited to the Denton Civic Center and Quakertown Park for free family fun! Take advantage of activities such as live music, food trucks, inflatables, carnival games, and more! Don't forget about the hot dog eating contest at 11:30 am. Register in advance online or show up with the will to scarf down 20 hotdogs faster than your opponents.

YANKEE DOODLE PARADE

A time-honored Denton tradition, Parks and Rec is excited to bring back the return of the Yankee Doodle Parade. The parade begins at 9 am on July 2nd near the Wells Fargo building at Austin St. & Hickory St. and ends at the Denton Civic Center. Float participants can register to participate through the Denton Parks and Rec website until July 1st. Parade lineup for participants starts at 7:30 am in the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot off Austin St. Parade entries will be judged from 8:15 am to 8:45 am before the parade begins. Parade winners will be posted on City of Denton Parks and Rec social media.

FIREWORKS SHOW

The 2022 Kiwanis Club Fourth of July Fireworks Display will take place on July 3rd at North Lakes Park. The show starts at 9:30 pm and will last approximately 30 minutes. Parking will be available in the North Lakes Park area parking lots for $10 per car, cash only, and will open up at 7 pm.
