The Symphonic Band presents The Music of Bruce Broughton on February 13 in Winspear Hall. Bruce Broughton is best known for his many memorable and award-winning scores for film (“Silverado,” “Tombstone,” “The Rescuers Down Under,” “Miracle on 34th Street” and “Harry and the Hendersons,” among others) and television (“JAG,” “Tiny Toon Adventures,” “The Orville” and “Dinosaurs”). Broughton – a 10-time Emmy Award winner – joined the UNT College of Music faculty as the 2017-18 composer-in residence. This performance will include three of Broughton’s concert works, including his thrilling “Fanfare for 16 Horns.”
