Denton Should be on Your Conference Radar

It takes a village to pull off a successful conference. After every detail is planned and coordinated by a team, its members roll up their sleeves to ensure individual assignments are not only completed but successful. Here at the Denton Convention & Visitors Bureau, we want you to include us as one of the villagers that will help your conference not only be a huge success but one that everyone will remember.

Location, Location, Location

While space is vital when organizing your meeting, we realize that location is key! Travel to and from the ideal location should be easy for attendees. Many groups, such as Texas CASA, chose Denton because of our competitive rates and easy access to DFW airport.

At the end of a conference day, attendees want to give the brain a break and seek time to loosen the tie and kick off the shoes. Denton’s Original and Independent vibe offers a distinctive and fun setting. Our walkable downtown offers live music venues, tasty bites, refreshing libations, unique shopping, and art galleries creating a desire to dive into our cool diverse city.

The Meeting Space

Some of Denton’s most creative ideas were born in many of the unique meeting spaces around town. While there are plenty of options for brainstorming for smaller meetings, there is now also ample space for state conferences and associations. The new Dentonite on the block is a game-changing Convention Center and Hotel complex: the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denton Convention Center. This property features 318 Embassy Suites hotel rooms, 70k square feet of flexible meeting space and 20 breakout rooms. But we are not stopping there! We have an additional 1,800+ rooms and more than 25,000 square feet of additional meeting space to complement large meetings and conventions.

The Overachievers

While the Convention Center is set to open soon, many event planners sought to be the first of many conferences and conventions that will fill the space. Local Dentonite and Denton Breakfast Kiwanian Judge Joe Holland kept a keen eye on the progress of the new Embassy Suites and Denton Convention Center. He rallied the local membership to bid on the 2019 TX-OK Kiwanis Conference and, as a result of his enthusiasm, the TX-OK Kiwanis was the first convention booked in the facility.

Who are you going to call?

Welcoming groups and conferences is exciting for us. We were right alongside Joe and his villagers when the concept was presented to the 350-person Kiwanis membership and were the liaison between the association and the hotel. We will continue to be a resource and assist with services that will guarantee a perfect experience. For many groups, we have personalized messages that are presented to the decision-makers, just as we did for the Texas Letter Carriers Association in a video that showed off Denton but spoke directly to the membership.

The best advice we can offer is to always start with the Denton CVB. It’s just a matter of picking up the phone or emailing us to start the planning conversation. We’d love the opportunity to help you plan the perfect Denton meeting event.
