I don't know about the rest of y'all, but the holidays have snuck up on me this year. My boss, Kim, tells us in January every year to start our holiday shopping and, as per usual, we ignored her, thinking "we've got plenty of time!" Then, the next thing we know, we're racing coffins down Hickory Street and we realize: the holidays are less than two months away!

But no need to panic, especially if your wallet is a bit thin these days. The Denton Main Street Association's Holiday Open House this weekend provides a plethora of shopping opportunities. I went out to the vendors in search of finds that would make great gifts or decor without breaking the bank. Plus, save some stomach room, as many of the local restaurants will have great discounts for shoppers who need to satisfy their hunger or quench their thirst.
