Of course you know that Denton is home to the super amazing, Grammy Award-Winning Brave Combo!   But, did you know that Denton also has its very own orchestra?  Yes!  It's called Odysseus Chamber Orchestra.  These two very accomplished musical groups are teaming up to bring us a concert on November 2 at 8:00 p.m. at TWU's Margo Jones Auditorium.  Advance tickets can be purchased here.

Brave ComboThis concert event is going to kick off the 2013-14 year for the orchestra.  Conductor Jason Lim and Odysseus Chamber Orchestra were recently awarded 3rd prize in the 2013 American Prize Professional Orchestra Competition.  They are a local non-profit who invites accomplished area high school students to join them on stage so that the students can get real experience playing with professionals.

Brave Combo's website says:  Denton's most beloved band will perform songs like Why Oh Why, Denton Polka, Flying Saucer, Nothing Earthly, Do Something Different, Lets Kiss, Busy Office Rumba, Do Something Different and many more.

Love Brave Combo and want to join the fun after the show?  Purchase tickets for the after party at the Greenhouse.  The band and Maestro Jason Lim will be there!  The price includes beer, wine and soft drinks, and they will be giving away door prizes.  For more information on the concert and the orchestra, please see the recent article in the Denton Record-Chronicle here.

Get ready to polka!  See you there!

UPDATE: Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled. But you can find more great live music events on the Discover Denton event calendar.
