Celebrating a two year anniversary was especially nice this year for the Courtyard by Marriott Denton. The icing on the anniversary cake was receiving the Marriott Platinum Award for Service for 2010 that General Manager Jay Darsie and his team were awarded at the March 2011 General Managers Conference.
“Despite the highly competitive market and economic downturn, our team here at Courtyard Denton has maintained strong hotel service standards and enthusiastically focuses on our guest. This was a direct contribution to receiving this Platinum Award,” says Darsie.
The prestigious Platinum Award is presented to Marriott hotels that maintained a 91% or higher Service and Overall Satisfaction by Guest Satisfaction Surveys for the entire year. Out of 800 Courtyard by Marriott's in 2010, Denton’s Courtyard by Marriott placed second.
According to the Courtyard’s Director of Sales, Gina Atkinson, it’s all about team work. “We are very proud of this achievement. I feel the root of our success is true team spirit. Each team member contributes to the overall success of our hotel.”
And regardless of how many years go by, Darsie is sure the enthusiasm is part of the WOW factor. “It has been a phenomenal two years. We still say our New Courtyard by Marriott, because the NEW has not worn off!”
