Members of the Texas Heritage Trails LLC are eagerly anticipating the debut this week of Authentic Texas — the Heritage Magazine of Texas. The spring issue of this new quarterly publication rolls out this week and will be available online and at no cost from more than 100 visitor centers, heritage sites and select business establishments throughout the Lone Star State. The full-color slick magazine promoting Texas people, places, events, and stories is a product of the Texas Heritage Trails, LLC, which is a coalition of five nonprofit heritage trail organizations from across the state, including the Texas Lakes Trail Region.
“Authentic Texas invites Texans to explore their state and visitors to discover it,” said Heritage Trails LLC president Rick Stryker. Although the magazine is not partisan, the spring edition features the political heritage of Texas. Articles highlight the homes, libraries and sites related to those who have served as president of either the Republic of Texas or the United States.
As “The Heritage Magazine of Texas,” Authentic Texas promises to showcase the genuine people, places, and products that make the Texas experience unique. Readers will be invited to explore the communities, sites and attractions that are the fabric of Texas’ rich heritage. Themed travel itineraries and details on cultural events will be shared. Authentic Texas will highlight preservation efforts – those that saved sites for today’s visitors and projects where Texans are seeking to be good stewards for future generations. Authentic Texas will tell the true stories that inspire travelers to get in the car and experience for themselves the “real” places, artifacts, and activities of this unique state.
