Annual Liberty Run: 5K Run and 1-Mile Fun Walk

North Lakes Recreation Center

Early birds start the 4th of July celebration weekend by running or walking.  The family-oriented race begins at 7:30 AM (check-in begins at 6:30 AM).  Medals are awarded to the top three 5K male and female finishers in each age group.  All participants receive a T-shirt and snacks.


Yankee Doodle Parade

The Yankee Doodle Parade, which begins at 9 AM, winds its way through downtown and to the Civic Center.




 


 
Walk around the Courthouse Square and you'll feel it: the vibe that's uniquely Denton. About 40 miles northwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Denton is amazing music and innovative arts; it's history and heritage. It's college-town living mixed with family-friendly festivals. Come for a visit and check out Denton's amazing restaurants, catch a concert, do some shopping. Take a tour, or hang with the locals. Whatever you do, you'll feel Denton's unique vibe.

The Air Fair features fly-ins, an open house and is open to the public.  World War II antique aircraft, aerobatic maneuvers, parachute drop, and experimental and vintage aircraft will be on display.  Booths and concessions will be available.
